Swaps

Hello!  :)

Last week I told you I had joined a Valentine's apron swap. I made one for me and one for my partner. Gail received her apron, so now I can share it with you.

First here is the one I made for me!  :)

I love it!  :)  It was a new pattern for me and went together pretty quick.  :)

This is the one I made for Gail . . .

Here's a close-up of the details . . .

Don't you just love the kitties and pink hearts?!!!  And how about the pink mini pom-pom's on the pocket and of course the extra large rick rack! I hope she likes it as much as I do!  :)

I received my apron and goodies from Gail today. She sent me a two-sided apron, one side Valentine and the other for every day! How cool is that?!!! She also sent me some Valentine socks, cupcake liners & picks, and a set of heart cookie cutters. I'm a lucky girl! I love it all!  :)

Here's the Valentines side, full of hearts, and the goodies.  :)

Here's the reverse side . . .

I love it! Check out that awesome apron fabric!!! OMG!!! I love it!!!  :)  She also used the same heart fabric from the front and some black rick rack! Did I tell you I love it?!!!  :)  Thank you so much Gail! You rock!!!  :)

I have one more swap to share with you. Remember this Snowman block I made?

My partner Nettie received it!  :)  I received this one from her . . .

Isn't it adorable?!!! I love it! It's all appliqued. She did a wonderful job! Thank you Nettie!  :)

That's all the swaps for now. The only other swap I have lined up is making two heart blocks for this month's block swap. Not quite sure what I'm going to do yet. Can't wait to get started on them. I love hearts!  :)

Until next time . . .

A Full February 1st for Me!

Hello!  :)

I didn't get any sewing done over the weekend like I had planned. The hunky dude, the boy and I did go bowling though. I hadn't been bowling in over 20 years. I was pretty darn rusty . . . skills and body . . . lol! I've been paying for it ever since. We did have fun though!  :)

I had joined a Valentine's apron swap over at Country Pleasures. I thought the due date was February 15th for some reason, which is pretty odd since Valentine's Day is the 14th. Anyway the mailing due date was actually February 1st. So I got busy picking out the pattern and getting the fabric. Then I managed to get the apron plus an extra one for me sewed up pretty quick. Of course I can't show them to you yet but I will soon. I mailed it out today so my partner, Gail of Faithfulness Farm, should receive it soon and then I'll share both of them with you!  :)

I had a pretty productive day today. I finally got the two Snowman Blocks I made for a January Block of the Month Swap mailed out to my two partners.

I also got the charm packs mailed out to the giveaway winners from Monday. So Jennifer and Gail they are on the way to you! Enjoy them!  :)

While I was at it, I got the I-SPY charms mailed out for the charm swap. I'm ahead on this one as they're not due until February 15th. I know I'm shocked too! I'm never early!  Lol!  ;)

That was the end of the mailings today. Whew! It was nice to get those items off on their way!  :) I did manage to make two mini blankets for Doobie today but forgot to take pictures of them. :(  I did take a picture of him earlier today all swaddled up in my blanket though (he was cold).  :)

He's so cute and sweet! Isn't he?!!! He looks like a puppy here but he's not. Do you see his new license? I finally went and got it so he's legal now!  :)

I was even able to make some more progress with the Birdies today!  :)  I managed to get all the sashings on. I decided to go ahead and add some cornerstones where the inner blocks meet using the border fabric. What do you think? How's it looking so far?

I'm loving how it's looking but it's a little too small for me. I know it's supposed to be a lap quilt but I think I want it a little bigger. So far there's only one border to add. Tomorrow I think I'll play around a little bit and maybe add two borders instead of just one. Next time you see it the top should be finished. I hope so! It's not that I'm trying to rush. It's just that I've been dying to see how this one turns out. It's for me! I'm so excited! :)

And if that isn't enough . . . Today the mailman brought some goodies to me!  :)

It's one of my Snowman Blocks for the swap! Isn't it cute?!!! My partner Toni also sent me 4 fat quarters of snowman fabric, some sewing machine needles and thread! I'm a lucky girl!  :)

Here's a close up of the block. She designed it herself! I love it!  :)  Thanks Toni! You did a great job!  :)

Until next time . . .

Getting Ready for Christmas! :)

Hello!

I've been really busy getting ready for Christmas. So much to do! Decorate . . . Trees up but only half done  :(  . . . Decorations aren't up yet  :(  but I've been making a little progress on all my projects.  :}  The 5 aprons turned into 6 aprons. The 2 for swaps are finally going out in tomorrow's mail. :) The 2 for gifts are ready. :)  And the other 2 . . . well they're for me! I know! I just had to. I loved the two colorways I made and I just had to have one of each for myself. I knew that if I didn't do them now I wouldn't ever get them done. I love them! I'll show them all to you next week after my swap buddies get theirs.  :)

Tonight is the first Friday Night Sew-In of the month!

I definitely will need both of them this month! Will you be joining me at your machine? I'm actually ready to go for a change! I know I can't believe it either!  :)  I'm making two pairs of jammie pants for each of my 3 kids for Christmas gifts. Here are the flannel fabrics I'll be using . . .

The first two are for my 22 23 year old son (he had a birthday Monday!). The next two are for my 16 year old son . . .  and the last two are for my 21 (soon to be 22 year old!) daughter.

Here they are all cut and ready to go.  :)  I occupied my sewing room Thursday and got all these cut out and ready to sew. I'm also hoping to get to this fabric tonight . . .

I'm making something for my 23 year old son with it. Yes the 23 year old! He loves pirates! What will I be making him? You'll have to wait and see! Hee hee!  :)  It'll be a really quick project. I showed the fabric to my hunky dude and he actually said to make him one too! Little does he know that I'd already planned on it!  :)  They will make great stocking stuffers! Anyone want to guess what I'm making with it?

I got a surprise in the mail today!  :)  I already knew what it was but I was shocked it got here so quickly! It was an apron I won earlier this week from the Apronista blog. The apron was donated and made by D-Lux 57. I was very impressed with the presentation. It came in a box . . .

I opened the box and it was wrapped in tissue. . .

I was surprised when I saw what looked like a fabric envelope in plastic . . .

It was a fabric envelope!  :)

And it's in the same fabrics as the apron! What an awesome surprise!  :)

Inside the envelope was the apron folded neatly and a little note . . .

Here's the apron . . .

I love it!  :)  This apron is actually a little different than the picture from the website . . . but I love it! (I actually like it better than the one on the website!)  :)  Lucky me!  :)  Here's a close up of the fabrics . . .

It's very well made and a great design! I absolutely love it and wore it the rest of the day!  :)

Don't forget I'll be having a giveaway starting on Saturday! Be sure to come back to see what I'm giving away! Maybe the mailman will deliver it to your door!  :)

Until next time . . .

Occupy Your Sewing Room + More!

Hello!

I'll be occupying my sewing room sometime (if not most of the time) between December 3 - 10 . . . How about you?

Barbara over at Cat Patches is hosting  a "blogging event for our times!" All you need to do to participate is to Occupy Your Sewing Room for a full day during that time. Then write a blog post about it and link up on December 11th to show off what you've accomplished. There's even prizes! Be sure to go check out all the details!  :)

On another note . . .

I'll be participating in a Blog Hop Party with Give-Aways December 10th. Blog Hop Party is pretty self-explanatory but 'with Give-Aways'? This means that all the Blog Hop Party participants will be having a Giveaway! Yes I will be having a giveaway too! What I'll be giving away is a surprise (even to me at this point, but I have a few ideas)! It sounds like a fun event! Go check out the details, if you'd like to participate yourself.  :)  Don't forget to come back here on December 10th to see what I'm giving away and to enter for your chance to win!  :)

This past week I've been working on five aprons. Yes five! All at the same time. Crazy I know! I'm really enjoying it but I can't show them to you because two are for swaps, two are for gifts . . . and the last one . . .  well it's for me! I'll show you when I can!  :)  I still have other gifts to make before Christmas . . . two quilts, and six pairs of jammie pants. Can I do it? Guess we'll have to wait and see. One thing I know for sure is that I'll be a busy girl!  :)

Until next time . . .

The Ghastlies are Here!!! :)

Hello!  Welcome!  :)

Although I'm not an official stop on the Ghastlies Blog Hop . . . Our dear Madame Samm has honored me by steering you my way! Thank you so much Madame!  I won't let you down!  ;)

So without further adieu . . . here's some Ghastlie projects which helped me to get rid of this flu . . .

The first for your viewing pleasure . . .

What do you think of my apron?
Do you like what you see?
It was made to show you
By little ol' me!

The Ghastlie's are sitting
And knitting away
Look closely my dears
Before you go play!

Did you see them?
That ol' owl

and Sebastian the cat

And don't forget Prudence

That girl knows where it's at!  ;)

And those sisters three
Love to knit while they sit
I'll bet if you ask them
They'll take care of your tea!

For they're on a mug rug
One side they all fit
Now turn it over
And there the rest sit!

Well that's all it took
for me to get cured.
But I want to share
Yes that's what you heard!

One of you will have
This mug rug to use
I'll give it away
Just don't blow a fuse!

I bid you adieu
But before you go
Please leave me a comment
Before you go sew!

Thank you for visiting! I would love it if you would follow me! It makes me real happy! :)  If you'd like to win the mug rug above please comment on this post and tell me you want it. I'll choose a winner Saturday at 9:00pm (pacific time) and post it here. Good luck!  :)

This giveaway is closed!
The winner of the mug rug is Quilter in the Gap! Congrats!!!  :)

Don't forget to visit all the Ghastlie bloggers on today's blog hop . . .

This last mug rug is the one I made for me! Goodnight! Good day! Hope to see you again real soon!  :)

Until next time . . .

Stitch-N-More :)

Hello!

Guess what I finished this week??? I finished the last stitchery (so far anyway) for my Christmas Stitchery Mini Quilt. Here it is . . .

The very last stitchery will be available this Friday. I can't wait! Maybe I'll get started on piecing the top before it comes out so I can get ahead of the game. We'll have to see if I can get motivated to do it.  :)

Guess what else I did? The latest Birdie Stitches Block of the Month . . .

The November block was released on November 1st. I sat down to get it started and couldn't stop until I finished it! I added some extras to it too. :)  I had forgotten how much I love this Sophie fabric and these birdies! I really enjoyed working on it and can't wait until the last block comes out on December 1st. Wonder if there will be a Christmas tree? I bet there will be one!  :)

Today I received a couple of surprises in the mail . . .

The first was a Thanksgiving quilt block from Toni in Pennsylvania. This is part of a 12-month quilt block swap over at Mary Jane's Farm. Here's the block . . .

Isn't it wonderful! She did an awesome job appliqueing it! Thanks so much Toni! I love it!  :)  Toni also sent me three other items she made . . . a towel, a washcloth and a card! I'm a lucky girl!  :)

It was like an early Christmas here as I also received this in the mail . . .

A fall apron made for me by Raine in Wisconsin. Through another swap at Mary Jane's Farm. Isn't it lovely?! She really did a nice job with it! Thanks Raine!  :)  She also sent me some apple fabric and a Thanksgiving towel. How sweet! Love it all!  :)

Be sure to come back here tomorrow. As tomorrow is the day . . . It's the day I reveal my Ghastlie projects! I have given you a couple of hints in the past. Remember this . . .

and this . . .

What in the world could they be? Can you venture a guess? Well the wait will be over tomorrow! I will be posting them at 12:01am (eastern time) Friday, November 4th! Shhhhhh . . . don't tell anyone . . . but I'll be giving one of my items away! Be sure to come for a visit tomorrow!  :)

Until next time . . .
