Lovin' Lizzie Kate! :)

Hello!  :)

I managed to finish up the Lizzie Kate Halloween Mystery Sampler part 1 & 2!  Yea!  :)

Now I'm ready and waiting until the last part (3) is released. I can't wait!  :)

With each part of the sampler there's a bonus design included. There's a cat that's part of the bonus design that comes with part 2. I fell in love with him the minute I saw him! He's so cute!!!  :)  I decided I just had to make him up into a pin cushion so I can look at him all the time! Here he is!  :)

I stitched him on 28ct Light Orange Spice Evenweave. I love how he turned out!  :)  Here's the back . . .

Isn't that just the perfect backing fabric?! The pin cushion is filled with crushed walnut shells to help keep your pins & needles sharp and clean.  :)

Be sure to come back here tomorrow, Saturday, August 25th, for your chance to win one of these kitty pin cushions of your own! I'll also be adding a few extras along with it!  :)

Until next time . . .

Look what I got!

Hello!  :)

I received the most wonderful Valentine surprise from Donna of Donna's Lavender Nest.  :)

Donna's a real sweetie and she sent me lots of Valentine goodness! Don't you think?! First she sent me this awesome vintage Valentine. I love it!  :)

Here's a close up of the beautiful heart shaped pin cushion. I absolutely love it!  :)

I love roses, pink and rick rack of course! Did you see the pins in it? Here's a close up of them . . .

Aren't they awesome?!!! Then I found some chocolate goodness hidden inside this awesome Valentine wrapper.  :)

She also sent me a couple of vintage sheets, which I love!  :)  Great job Donna on all of it! It was a very pleasant surprise! You should check out her blog, Donna's Lavender Nest, it's full of lots of vintage goodness!  :)

Check this out . . .

It's the sewing machine I've had for over 20 years. It's been with me through lots of projects and has served me well. It's very basic though with only 9 stitches.

For Valentine's my hunky dude surprised me with a new sewing machine! He's so awesome!  :)

It's not as fancy as the machine's a lot of you have, but it's definitely an upgrade for me and I love it!  :)

It has 100 stitches!  :)  It also came with the table extension, 10 feet including a walking foot and a free-motion quilting foot. It has lots of fun stuff for me to play with. It kind of makes me nervous. I've gotten it out of the box but haven't played with it yet. It kind of intimidates me. I know it's silly. Maybe tomorrow I'll get busy with it for the Friday Night Sew-In. Wish me luck!  :)

Until next time . . .

5 down... 1 to go!

Hello!

Sorry I've been away a few days. I've been busy. I've been doing a lot of surfing (the web that is). I've found a few more ways to get keep myself into trouble busy. More on that later! I did go to visit my dad yesterday. He just got back from a trip to Canada to visit his 6 sisters and 1 brother. It was fun looking at the pictures. Here' me, my dad and my sister Tammie earlier this year.

When my dad heard that I've been quilting he asked me if I'd be able to repair a quilt his grandmother made for him when he was a boy. It was the same quilt I remember using when I was younger and needed an extra blanket. It brings back fond memories. Now it's worn and desperately in need of some repairs. It has so many awesome vintage fabrics! I love it! Am I talented patient enough to repair it? I guess we'll find out! I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet but will soon. I can't wait to share it with you.

I made a pin cushion for my sister and gave it to her Saturday for her birthday. She's a fellow crafter and has a great blog if you want to check it out. Here's the pin cushion I made for her. She already added a couple of pins to it.

Over the past few days I have managed to complete all 6 of blocks 4 & 5 of the "Happy Quilting Stars Quilt-a-Long". These are definitely my favorites so far.

There's only one more block to go and then the borders. This quilt has been lots of fun! I didn't even know whether I'd be able to do it or not. But I am! I'm so excited and proud of myself. Melissa's directions are great and easy to follow.

My mind has been spinning the last few days with lots of plans for my sewing future... projects, gifts, etc. I'm hoping to start a couple more projects today and tomorrow. I'm busy and having fun! I hope you are too! Enjoy your holiday weekend.

Until next time...
